Leaving an Impact
While this butterfly garden might have started an idea it's grown into an over 2000 square foot conservation project. It's just another reminder that even one person can make a huge difference in their community.
An Inspiration

Every great project starts with an idea. Andrew was inspired by his local chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist and some of their lectures, which promotes service that is "beneficial [to the] management of natural resources and natural areas" in Texas.
A Long Wait
Completing projects on campus can be very difficult. Funding, direction, and permission often all come from different places and coordinating them all can take a lot of work. Andrew waited almost two years for the garden to be completed.
Individuals Matter
There was a lot of help along the way, but at the core of this project was one individual who made it all happen. Andrew Payne was just like any other student at Texas A&M, except he decided he was going to build a butterfly garden.
